Happy 2017!

At last 2016 is in the rearview mirror, and 2017 is the long road ahead that I'm so eager to travel. I'm not going to mince words, this past year wasn't my best. It was downright difficult. In fact, it has been a few years of difficulties and challenges, but...everyday we take a breath is fresh-start-opportunity. I'm ready to move forward in a number of areas in my life. Today is a new day after all.

I expected my upcoming book, Rowdy, to be out months ago. Due to unforeseen circumstances, things have been delayed. At last, though, the end is in sight, and I can't wait to share Rowdy and Trina's story with you.

Right now, I'd like to share an excerpt and the latest teaser from the book.

But first, a reminder. As you might recall, it is not necessary to read the Scorched Souls series in advance, considering Rowdy is a spinoff, BUT doing so will give you improved insight and deeper knowledge of past events. To make this advance reading easier...

The entire Scorched Souls saga is available, in one volume, for just $.99 or FREE for Kindle Unlimited, so you can't really lose by taking a peek.

You can pick up your copy of the Scorched Souls Saga here

Then get ready to find out what happens when one badass biker meets his private nurse for the first time in a brief Rowdy-preview.

(Excerpt from Rowdy is copyrighted material/C.L. Riley/2017)

Thank you for visiting, and I hope you will come back soon.
Best wishes for you in the New Year.

Passion in Portland 2016

Last weekend, I had the honor of joining sixty authors from around the country for the second annual PIP-Passion In Portland, Romance Author Signing Event. I was in very good company to say the least.

I was blessed to shared a table with USA Best Selling Author, Jennifer Blackwood. I've already read one of her books and loved it. I met numerous bloggers, readers, and authors who will no doubt continue to be a part of my life into the future. In addition, I have a new, amazing Personal Assistant, Deb Carroll.

Cool stuff! I can't wait to attend more signing events in the future. If you are a reader, blogger, or author and have yet to attend one of these exciting events, I encourage you to do so.

Oh...I forgot to mention, several VERY hot (scorching hot) book cover models were also in attendance and spent considerable time socializing and hanging with the crowd. Talk about sweet and sexy.

Below are pics of one amazing blogger/reader at my table and the group of attending PIP authors. Also check out some of the book swag I had on hand.

Portland, Oregon is an amazing city, and I am proud to call it home. Hope to see you all next year at PIP 2017!

As for book projects, I am finishing up Rowdy, my Scorched Souls Spinoff. Cover Reveal coming soon. In the meantime, here are a few teasers.

The Reviews are Raving!

I am so thankful to the readers and reviewers who have taken time to share their thoughts about my newest release, a rock-star, step-brother romance -- Bad Beats. The comments have been overwhelmingly positive, which warms my heart times ten. Nothing is better that knowing the story you created, the characters you nurtured, and the hours spent hunched over a keyboard were worth the effort and provided entertainment.

I haven't shared a lot of my personal life on this site, but what I will say is this past year and a half has been extremely difficult. Losing my best friend, my mother, and dealing with a full plate of health challenges has proven difficult to say the least. Writing and reading have been my much-needed escape. Without those activities, the strength that comes from God and friends, I would have been in an even darker place. So...enough of that! Just know I appreciate you reading my books and taking time to share your thoughts. It means the world to me.

Below, you will find just a few of the comments I've had the pleasure of reading about Bad Beats on Amazon:

“I can’t even deal with how great this book is!!! I love a sexy rock star book and let me tell you, Shag is it!!! He’s moody, cocky and downright sexy!! Then you throw in take no crap Cadie and this story is exciting, angsty and hot!!! There so much depth to the characters and the book, ugh I really couldn’t get enough!!!”

“If you like musicians, drama and heat, then this is the perfect book for you! Bad Beats is a rock star romance, but it's also a stepbrother romance and second chance romance of sorts. The plot was fast paced and easily held my interest from start to finish.”

“This book took the whole “Stepbrother to Lover “ genre and turned it on it’s head. It was steamy, funny and sad in places and an absolutely wonderful read. Shag and Cadie were a lovely couple and add in a cast of misfits and hilarious situations and you have the perfect book.”

“The character development is fantastic, with a very entertaining cast of secondaries.  Cadie and Shag had flammable chemistry which IGNITED into fiery flames of sexy scene goodness that left ashes in place of panties. C.L. Riley's talented writing style had me hooked from the very beginning, and took me on one hell of an emotional journey. In a time of taboo romances being all the rage, hers was original, highly addictive, and kept my heart pounding to the very end.”

“This is my first book by author C L Riley and as cliche as it sounds, it won't be my last. Bad Beats is a wonderfully written rocker romance with lots of amazing twists. It had this reader smiling, laughing and of course sighing during the erotically hot romantic scenes.”

“WOW WOW WOW! There isn't one thing that I didn't absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE about his story!”

Put on your backstage pass and pick up you copy of Bad Beat.

Pre-Order Available FINALLY for Bad Beats!

We have a release date for Bad Beats, my Rock-Star, Step-brother romance. It will be available for Kindle on June 16, 2016. Right now, you can PRE-ORDER for just $.99! Price will increase to full retail, following the release date, so now is a good time to pick up your copy.

He's a household name. Posters of his tattooed body are plastered across bedroom walls from San Francisco to Singapore. Women want to be with him. Men want to be him. He's brash, bold, and bossy as hell, and he is about to become my employer and my step-brother, which wouldn't be so bad, except ...

He's already been my lover.

Hot Scoop Magazine's Sexiest Performer Alive, Sean 'Shag' Steal, is the front-man for Crude Element, the hottest band on the scene. With every song he pens, blazing up the charts, he's got the world at his feet.

Attempting to change his public image as a kinky, womanizing pig, hasn't stopped his wayward ways. I should know.

He played me his music. He played with my body. And he played with my heart, leaving it tattered in tiny painful pieces, nearly broken beyond repair.

I was finally putting the pieces back together when his mother and my father decide to blindside us. They're getting married!

Could things get any worse? The answer to that question is a resounding yes.

Pushed by my dad to replace Shag's former PA, I find myself working with the one man who lives to torment me. He won't take 'no' for an answer, and he always gets what he wants. This time he wants me back in his bed, at least until our parents say, 'I do.' I have to resist. There is no way I can handle another heartbreak.

If only he hadn't earned his silly nickname because of his 'shagging' skills, resisting would be so much easier.

No cliffhanger and there is a HEA!

Warning: This book is for mature audiences and contains sexual situations, language, and subject matters some readers may find offensive, including drug use.
